More or less every coffee growing country has its prized coffee growing area and Marcala is known for some of the highest quality coffees from Honduras. Marcala is situated in the west central Honduras in the municipality department of La Paz.

Sitting at an altitude of 1500 meters (nearly) is Finca La Matilde which is owned and run by husband and wife team Marysabel Caballero and Moises Herrera. The farm is mainly planted with Bourbon and an experimental crop of Geisha. The farm was handed down to Marysabel by her Father who was himself an early coffee innovator in Honduras. Today the family owns a number coffee farms in the Marcala area which together total around 200 hectares.

Everything on this farm is managed in such a way only to produce a quality crop.
All our coffee is sold as whole beans, which we recommend for optimum flavour and freshness.
