Coffee / Mexico / Mexico Josefa Lucas Goma - Washed

Mexico Josefa Lucas Goma - Washed

Candied sweetness, very sweet, bright acidity, some bakers chocolate, red berries and a little orange with a smooth long finish. Super clean

This is a very interesting coffee! In fact we have two - one washed (this one) and one natural

For us the washed processing and varietal of this coffee brings us a super clean and honest cup - not what you would normally find in north Mexico (more south / Guatemalan) and maybe this is because the processing (like the natural) was done in very small micro lots - they could be called nano lots.

The processing at this farm is tiny and you would think that this would add to inconsistency - but it does not.

Why tiny? Well the reason for this is that the coffee of Josefa Lucas Goma is grown on his own Terruño (homestead / garden) on and around the extinct volcano called Cerro San Juan.

We were lucky enough to visit Josefa this year (Jan 2017) and a number of very small producers. It is always a great experience to meet and chat to garden growers - in some respects these guys are more focused on quality with less tools to hand

All our coffee is sold as whole beans, which we recommend for optimum flavour and freshness.
